Hi,
I read a bit of posts about HPNA's and Linux. My ISP actually gives internet access through HPNA, and gives a USB devices to connect online. However, after Googling, its obvious that the USB HPNA devices are not supported in Linux. Could a hpna to ethernet bridge (netgear pe102 for exapmle) allow me to access the internet? My PC has a 10BaseT NIC, and I want to run it though the bridge, which would be connected to the phoneline. Would this allow me to access the internet? Thanks. -- To reply via email, remove 'TakeThisOut' from my address G |

As far as I understand Netgear's product page correctly, PE102 is meant for connecting a LAN of HPNA devices to Ethernet, not the opposite, but I think it would still work for you. Just feels like an overkill... or does your ISP support the fancy "NETGEAR Phoneline10X" feature? I would suggest getting a simple homepna-ethernet converter with one RJ-11 (phoneline) connector and one RJ-45 (ethernet). Could be cheaper. Take a look at http://www.digit-life.com/articles/homepna/ , maybe it helps to find a device with suitable specs. Just my 2 cents...
