I am trying to hook up a wireless router from a dial up
computer to use another computer's cable connection. I installed the router adapter to the dial up's USB, and then installed the software. I need a missing Windows 98 file called "dhcpcsvc.dll." Where can I get it? MSN website doesn't have it. Without it, the computer doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the adapter, and ultimately the cable computer's router. thanks rich |

Did you ever get your answer? I also need the Windows
98 "dhcpcsvc.dll" file, but this one is to hook up to a wireless notebook adapter. Any suggestion on finding it? >-----Original Message----- >I am trying to hook up a wireless router from a dial up >computer to use another computer's cable connection. The file should be in your window's system folder. To find it use the find command and insert the name of the file. It should be there. >-----Original Message----- >I am trying to hook up a wireless router from a dial up >computer to use another computer's cable connection. Steve:
Per your suggestion, I did find the dhcpcsvc.dll in the win98 cd in the net7.cab folder...Then the installation for the linksys card adapter requested 50+ more files that ALL were missing. I ended up finding them in the net8.cab, net9.cab and net10.cab folders, but do I have to extract them "one by one" into the Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter folder on the hard drive...and do they ALL belong there? or so some belong elsewhere? >-----Original Message----- >In article <049701c357a5$f2166480 $(E-Mail Removed)>, "rich" ><(E-Mail Removed)> wrote: >>I am trying to hook up a wireless router from a dial up >>computer to use another computer's cable connection.
