Default Win98 won't load after installing Network Setup Wizard from WinXP

After installing the Network Setup Wizard from Windows XP
on my Windows 98 system (as instructed to do by Windows
XP), the Windows 98 system will no longer load Windows
properly. I can only run in safe mode; this after
hitting ctrl/alt/del during a black screen stall in the
loading process.

Can anyone help me get my computer back to a usable
condition without losing the contents of the hard drive?

PLEASE, post all replies here, as I can't get e-mail in
safe mode.

Thanks,

Teri

Try disabling the program that the Wizard installed on Windows 98:

1. Boot in Safe mode.
2. Click Start | Run.
3. Type "msconfig" in the box and click OK.
4. Click Startup.
5. Un-check the box labeled "ICSDCLT".
6. Click OK to exit.

Then reboot normally.
