Default PC No longer can connect to network

I disconnected my WIN/98 PC from the network and can no longer reconnect. I
can not connect to the LAN or Internet.
I can ping myself but no other IP addresses on the network.
My ethernet connection is good. My hub liggts indicate the PC is connected.
I tried deleting client for Microsoft networks and re-adding and rebooting
but it still doesn't work.
Any ideas what else could be wrong.
Ron

Just because you have a light on the Hub dont assume the cable is OK, it
threw me when this happened, but after a cable swap I got my LAN working ok.
