Default RedHat9 and IP Forwarding

Hi all
I am trying to get my RedHat 9 to Forward IP packets. I have no
firewall settings and /etc/sysctl.cong has net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1. My
network consists of and ADSL modem (192.168.1.1) a Linux box (192.168.1.2)
and a dial-in line (192.168.1.10) when I dial in I can ping the Linux box
but not the modem, the Linux box doesn't seem to be forwarding my ip
packets. Does anyone know why?

Thanks

Stew

I might be mistaken about this, but I think that ip forwarding under
linux is a synonym for ip routing. This wont work properly unless you
use different subnets on each interface, or you use iptables to forward
the packet to the correct interface.
