Default tiscali dsl flat: ports are blocked, can I tell server to fetch packets for me instead?

hi,

im using a tiscali flatrate (soon), and ive heard that certain ports
that are important for filesharing are blocked.

i have access to a remote linux server by ssh. can i tunnel the
affected ports to this server, telling him 'somehow' to route the
packets for my filesharing?

does anybody know more details about this 'somehow'?

i do not have root access to the remote server.

thank you,

ludwig

Can you tell us the port numbers in question? I use a tiscali
connection here in Switzerland. So far I haven't encountered
such a problem.

Visvanath.
