I have a computer running w/xp prof and I wanted to add
my old computer running w/98se to my wireless network. I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 802.11b Router and bought a WUSB11 802.11b usb network adapter for my w/98se computer. I have a good signal and can connect to the internet if I open AOL, and can use internet explorer if AOL is open. However if I try to open Internet explorer alone I get a dialogue box that says Enter Network Password It gives my home page address under SITE: and lists Linksys BEFW11S4V4 for Realm: then it has a space for user name and password. I didn't set up a user or password for the old computer. I called verizon support, Linksys support, and compaq support and not any of them can help. Can anyone help me? As you can tell I am a newbe when it comes to networks . I would be most greatful for any help. Thanks Rod |
