Hi,
I have a home network setup here. One pc is running win2000, the other one win98. Both pc's see each other, i can access both discs, but i can't share my internet connection (worked perfect till last week - till the network card from this pc got loose...) Can anybody tell me what might be the reason for this? And how gateway or dns works...I know I gave IP addresses last time, also dns & gateway, but can't get it to work anymore... On the pc running win98, the right protocols are installed, also the network card... thanks M_forums |

If you want to configure the client with a static IP address, make all of these settings: IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255) Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 DNS Server = 192.168.0.1 or your ISP's DNS server -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. I'm sorry, but I don't answer questions addressed directly to me in E-mail or news groups.
