WAP11 and Cantenna???

Default WAP11 and Cantenna???




im planning to buy Linksys WAP11 and Cantenna..the AP that im trying to
reach is 5 kilometers far...has anyone know if can it reach that
distance ???

Won't work at all. When I ran the numbers, I ended up with a -5dB
fade margin. You need at a minimum of +10dB fade margin to just
barely work. I used:
http://www.ydi.com/calculation/som.php
http://www.tcstx.com/software/Flash/...FadeMargin.swf
where:
Tx power = 15dBm
Rx sens = -82dBm (for 11Mbits/sec)
TX pigtail and connector loss = 3dB
RX pigtail and connector loss = 3dB
TX antenna gain = 8dBi
antenna gain = 8dBi
Fade margin -> -5dB which sucks.
