interenet sharing 2 PCs - keeps connecting

Have set up 2 PCs with home network. Windows XP Home on
the one connected to the internet. Fine. Windows 98 second
edition on another that is set up to connect through the
first. All OK - except the Windows 98 Second Edition keeps
trying to connect all the time and so we cannot receive
calls while the computer is on.
