Hello,

Does Win98 have issues running login scripts from AD? In
other words, we've set-up a user with a WIN98 machine but
when he logs in, the drives are not mapped.

Thanks,
Greg

i've had mixed results. your best bet is to just to make a dos batch file
(.bat) and use the netuse commands to map the drives place that in the
startup folder and go with it. should run and map the drive wether or not it
does from the regulat login or not.

In AD, whoever logs in should run this bat file. Whether they use a 98 or 2000. Why is Microsoft a pain to work with? You don't see these types of stupid issues with Novell

Thanks

I couldn't tell you why specifically but I suspect it is to cause you to
upgrade.
Microsoft sells software. Making an atractive package or solution is a tool
to get you to buy it. In the end they are still trying to sell software. I
guess the difference between Microsoft and other companies is the idea of
how deep your pockets are and whether or not they can sell you something
else in the process. It doesn't make sence for a company like Novel to force
hurdles on you that would cause Microsoft to profit and make it dificult for
you to use thier software, hence the difference in ease of operations.
