Can this print server be connected to an Ethernet router? If so, is Cat 5
cable with RJ45 the correct cable? Should it be crossover cable? I am trying to set up an HP1100A printer as a LAN printer. I know that there is a JetDirect 500X Ethernet print server, but they are very expensive. Thanks. Papa |

What part number is the print server? HP makes several with the "500x"
name. -- Richard G. Harper [MVP Win9x] (E-Mail Removed) * PLEASE post all messages and replies in the newsgroups * for the benefit of all. It is J3264A. If not for the cost, I would have purchased the ethernet
version, J3265A. Both have 3 printer ports, and both are external servers, not cards. "Richard G. Sorry, but the version you purchased is only useable on a Token Ring network
and cannot be used on a standard Ethernet network. -- Richard G. Harper [MVP Win9x] (E-Mail Removed) * PLEASE post all messages and replies in the newsgroups * for the benefit of all. Thanks Richard. Appreciate your confirmation, and it was such a bargain too.
