Default JetDirect 500X Token Ring Print Server

Can this print server be connected to an Ethernet router? If so, is Cat 5
cable with RJ45 the correct cable? Should it be crossover cable?

I am trying to set up an HP1100A printer as a LAN printer. I know that there
is a JetDirect 500X Ethernet print server, but they are very expensive.

Thanks.

What part number is the print server? HP makes several with the "500x"
name.

It is J3264A. If not for the cost, I would have purchased the ethernet
version, J3265A. Both have 3 printer ports, and both are external servers,
not cards.

Sorry, but the version you purchased is only useable on a Token Ring network
and cannot be used on a standard Ethernet network.

Thanks Richard. Appreciate your confirmation, and it was such a bargain too.
