Hello, please can anyone help me?
I have got adsl broadband, a 3com (3CRWE754G72-A/B) 11g wireless router with 4 ethernet ports, an XP desktop, a Playstation, an Acorn all with RJ45 cable and an XP laptop with a 3com (3CRWE154G72) wireless card all working OK. The problem is the other laptop - running windows98SE - I can't get it to work the wireless card. It keeps saying there is a problem - reinstall the driver. I have tried uninstalling and starting again, reinstalling/repairing, restarting, all using the CD's installation. I have tried via control panel/install new hardware, but it says windows cannot find the drivers on the installation CD. The card is ok, btw, cos I tried swapping it with the other one, which is identical. I have looked on the 3com website but not found any help. Has anyone any ideas, please? -- Gertie. I am not sure what more info you need to help me? It's the same model card in both XP laptop and 98SE laptop. I bought both and the router from the same place at the same time. Shop been shut for Easter ever since (( so unable to help me.Both cards work in the XP, and neither in the 98SE. -- Gertie. Award-winning bog cleaner, agony aunt and now Latin scholar. Excuse my oversight.
Investigation shows little or no user assessment in form of user reviews. So this is a relatively new product. So it may have bugs not easily seen prior to purchase by the consumer. The few reviews I found are not heartening and are all on XP laptops. For instance: http://www.tomsnetworking.com/Review...WE554G72-6.php Linux users can't seem to get it to work. Nothing on 98SE. I can view portions, or some pages at some websites due to blocking Java. Primary 3Com website is all Java. Found this: http://www.3com.com/other/pdfs/produ..._US/400825.pdf "gertie@grumbles" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:(E-Mail Removed)... > In article <V%%dc.1057$0h6.997@lakeread02>, Lil' Dave > <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote: > > Sure provided alot of info on the subject not at hand concerning > > the NIC model numbers on the working PC/laptop. I had a similar problem and after much frustration updated the BIOS and behold the card came to life. ( I still have a problem with login to a PDC - but at least the network now talks to itself ) DRB |

As I know is this 3com card installations need install from
setup.exe on 3com cd rom installer install driver and necessary application. if you try to install from add/remove hardware, it wouldn't work. if you have problem with installation, try "section 2 trouble shoot" on manual. http://support.3com.com/infodeli/too...079_6aaa03.pdf if you still have problem Please contribute the state of an exact obstacle. (or you can use 3com's tech support http://knowledgebase.3com.com) "Bobby Andrews" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:19beb01c44d7c$40b82570$(E-Mail Removed)... > > I have the same problem that you have.
