LS,
With my computer I have access to Internet by cable modem (@Home, by network card). So, this connection has been installed allready. Please explain to me step by step how to install ICS under Win98SE (on the computer with direct acces to internet, and after that on the 2nd computer (with Windows XP). Wim Wim |

This site has details: ICS Installation [Win98SE] http://www.practicallynetworked.com/...icsinstall.htm Configure the WinXP computer as an ICS client, as shown here: XP ICS - Client Setup Using the Network Setup Wizard http://www.practicallynetworked.com/.../clientwiz.htm If it's possible, I strongly suggest moving the cable modem to the XP computer and reversing the computers' roles. XP's version of ICS is easier to set up and much more reliable than 98SE's version. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. I'm sorry, but I don't answer questions addressed directly to me in E-mail or news groups. With your setup you would be better off forgetting all about ICS, and
instead, use a router. That way you would never have to keep a "host" computer running in order for your other computer to access the internet.
