Default Echo in the Neighborhood

I have a 98SE crossover cabled to an XP. Network Neighbor consists of 2
users, Dave and Al. Works good, thanks to MUCH help from this forum. For
some reason, 2 folders appear in the 98SE Network Neighbor folder for each
user. Under Network Neighbor I have Entire Network, Dave & AL folders.
However, under Entire Network, I have MSHome, and under that another set of
Dave & AL folders. Any document saved to the network is saved to both
folders

I really don't need 2 of everything. Can I get rid of one set, or is that
just the way it is?

Thanks all
Dave B

That's just the way it is. You aren't seeing two of anything, but what you
are seeing is two VIEWS of the same thing. The shared computers and folders
show up in the Network Neighborhood because they're part of your local
workgroup, and the workgroup shows up in Entire Network because it's
supposed to.

OK, and thanks Richard.
On a similar note: the G drive on the Win98 is shared with the WinXP. If I
look in My Network Places on the XP, however, I see the G drive listed
twice; once the way I originally named it, and again after renaming. I can
delete the original, but it returns on reboot.
I would really like to get rid of the original - it's confusing some other
people, and come to think of it, me too.

Thx.

Dave B

Does the "ghost" G: drive connect the same as the renamed one? If so you
probably need to remove all mappings/connections to it, reboot and then
re-map it. Or it should go away by itself in a few days.
