I have an USR8022 wireless router and can't say I am happy with it.
Sometimes it takes a long time to "syncronize" with the router and lately it is giving me a lot of problems with my wireless network. When I try to use my wireless notebook (centrino with and Intel Pro Mini Pci) I have slow access. If I test the connection with pingPlotter I get pings over 1000 starting in the 1st hop. At first I thought it was a problems with my ISP but when I try with the LAN connection (wired network), I get decent pings. I suspect this is a problem with the router but ... how can I be sure. Anyone experienced anything like this? You can see here http://pwp.netcabo.pt/lfmartins/www....t_wireless.png and here http://pwp.netcabo.pt/lfmartins/www.tvcabo.pt_wired.png the results of the Pig Plotter. Thanks in advance for your help. -- Luis Fernando Martins, Gueifaes, Portugal private.php?do=newpm&u= ICQ UIN:3435348 MSN:(E-Mail Removed) http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/4545 Luis Fernando Martins |

Looks like a lot of packet loss.... Try a firmware upgrade on router + pccard Try a pingtest with don't fragment bit to determine the best MTU-size: ping -l 1500 -f remote_host etc.. Good luck! I did see it and think it ain't important.
I have all hardware with latest drivers/firmware, including router to the latest 4.2 I just confirmed that the problem is with the router. I used a Linksys AP (WAP11) connected with RJ45 to the router, I then switched wireless network to use the Linksys connection instead and got similar results as I get when I am "wired". Same router, same wireless network card and different AP, means that the routers's AP is not working properly, right? I have been trying to contact USR support but they seem to be out of business.
