I just got a Netgear WG511G wireless network card for my Inspiron
8200. I finally got it working, connecting to my roommates Apple AirPort. Everything is fone for about 5-10 minutes and then it locks up my system. When I try and end things normally I am told that my system resources are at 100% and I have to power down. Any idea why it would be ok for 5-10 minutes and then stop working? Thanks very much in advance! Jeff Wilson |

If that doesn't work, uncheck Let Windows Screw with (Manage) My Network, setting up the NIC manually from the settings in Device Manager. You might also Google Groups the words: XP wireless airport. Go to Netgear's site and get latest driver version.
My WAB501 had the same problem and flashing up the driver resolved the issue immediately. http://www.netgear.com/support/suppo...prodNum=WAG511 On Thu, 4 Sep 2003 14:00:48 -0600, "Quaoar" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote: >Jeff Wilson wrote: >> I just got a Netgear WG511G wireless network card for my Inspiron >> 8200. Thanks very much > in advance! Possible suggestion: Go to dslreports.com, read about tweaking TCP and download a program called DRTCP. Your MTU might be set too high (use 1492 or less if you have a router)...your OS may be defaulting to 1500. |
