Default DSL Router

We have a P2P network with a shared internet connection through a DSL
router. We suspect the router has gone bad and a Covad tech will be out
tomorrow. In the meantime.. is there anyway I can bypass the router and get
at least the one computer connected to the internet via DSL? I'm guessing
the router provides some function that's necessary but am newbie enough to
not be sure
Thanks in advance
Bobbie

Default Re: DSL Router

plug modem directly to one computer... you will have to setup static IP ,
DNS etc.

hope you have a firewall
