i have a win 2000 server domain.
there are roughly about 600 desktops which have either XP, 2000 proffessional or win 98 as OS i have a DHCP network. recently the win 98 machines have not been logging on to the domain if i configure them to get the ip assigned by the DHCP server. There is no problem in the IP getting assigned but the machine does not log on to the domain i get an error saying that there is no domain server available. if i give an fixed ip to the same machine, i am able to successfully logon to the domain i tried installing the DS client also but there is no change? what could be the problem ?? regards dheevar dheevar |

Dheevar,
What kind of DHCP server are you using? Is the DHCP server providing all the correct required information, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, WINS and/or DNS servers? Does this machine have more than One NIC installed? Regards, Miguel B |
