You might consider picking up a wireless access point on eBay,
and connecting it to your home wired network.
Then you could play, experiment, and learn 802.11b
while using your Thinkpad at home -

You may want to leave out "hacker or spammer" since many of us may not
offer help to lower beings such as those. Try rephrasing.....like
"wireless enthusiasts" or "avid experimentor" or "wireless expert". Get
my drift?
