3Com Airconnect problem

Trying to install a 3Com Wireless card (3CRWE73796B)in a Dell laptop running
XP Pro.
Icon in Task Bar says network available but in Network Connection it shows
as being unavailable. I've downloaded and installed latest driver from 3Com.
Anyone got a view on how to resolve this?
