I have a netgear DG834GT wireless router, which works fine. Pc connected via
ethernet cable. A laptop runs fine on a netgear WG111T usb adapter. I am trying to add another desktop to the network with another usb WG111T, but on the "about" part of the netgear setup, it displays the IP address as 0.0.0.0. (can't mind how many 0's). There does not appear to be any method of changing this in the netgear panel. I was wondering if it's a Windows thing? (XP sp2). All settings on the netgear panel apart from IP address are identical to the laptop settings. Thanks for any help. Carl |

In which case, your new wireless adapter will not have a valid IP address until you have finished the setup and it has contacted the DHCP server in the router - and is that set up to lease more than one simultaneously? If you want to assign addresses manually, check the WG111T panel to make sure DHCP is _not_ selected which may enable an IP entry option, though the following suggests not: > All settings on the netgear panel apart from IP address > are identical to the laptop settings Let us know if that idea helps LenW |
