Unfortunately they cost four or five times as much as ordinary ones, so the best advice is practice as already advised. -- Malcolm |

If you're only crimping a few every now and then, they are well worth the money. I bought some by accident when I ran out whilst on an emergency job one Sunday and they do make life really easy. I generally buy pre-certified patches by the hundred though, saves all the trouble of fiddling with plugs and you get to blame somebody else if it doesn't work. -- Clint Sharp |

I find that inserting is the easy part. The bit that always trips me up is actually cutting the sheath without cutting the wires. Also the wires always want to bend in the opposite direction to how they're supposed to. |
