I have this basic setup.
ADSL modem DMZ to wireless router Wireless router DMZ to pc2. pc2 is a 1ghz p3 system left on 24 hrs a day feeding weather information to my website. From pc2, i have another pc, pc1 connected to it through RJ45 cable, and a laptop, connected the same way. I have basically bridged these connections to access the net though the wireless PCI adapter I am having trouble with 2 applications on pc2, Shareaza and Steam (required to play Half life 2 online) and offline!!! How do i allow PC1 access to the internet (with no restrictions what so ever)? Also, how do i set it to have the same IP address, as pc2 is giving it all sorts of ip address 192.168.0.228 one time, then 192.168.0.106 the next?! If you need to know IP's My router is 190.168.0.1 then pc2 is 190.168.0.100. Stuart Stuart Turrell |

make sure your router is the only dchp enabled device.

My modem is a DCHP device, if i turn that off, i cant gain internet access,
as the wireless router cant gain an IP then to access the modem! The dchp is only set to give out one IP tho! and thats for the wireless router. I also believe pc2 is running as a DCHP, but i dont know how to go about that! Putting a PC in a DMZ leaves it WIDE OPEN to anyone who wants to have a crack at it. Far better to use static IPs and port forwarding. -- Conor An imperfect plan executed violently is far superior to a perfect plan. -- George Patton |
