Default Wireless connected - SP2 says not, but it is!

Network components exist of a Speedtouch 570 ADSL router and Speedtouch
120 USB wireless adapter.

The laptop (which utilises the wireless side) has SP2 installed, but
there is this irritating little icon in the bottom right hand corner of
the screen concerned with Wireless Networking showing the wireless
connection being available but not connected.

But it *is* connected, save to say i can surf the web, email, ping,
tracert etc ....and the signal between router and adapter is excellent.

I can't see anyway to ge this icon to actually show that everything is
connected, any ideas?

This only occurred when SP2 was installed...

It's probably the UPnP icon and your device has UPnP disabled or does'nt
have it as a feature.

It may also be the firewall in SP2 has blocked access for the UPnP
feature.

It is likely that you have two programs that can configure your wireless
adapter - SP2 and the software that came with the adapter. One is working,
the other isn't.

I have exactly the same thing on my laptop.

By the same token, SP2 is installed on another machine here that has
wireless, and it is problem free, and always has been.

Yeah but SP2 may work fine with one machine, and totally different with
another, let everyone else iron out the bugs with it, and get good driver
support, then upgrade
