Right,
I have a Linksys WRT54G router two PCs connected via cables to it, the wife's PC connected by a Linksys USB network adapter, all working fine. Work have given me a laptop which when connected vai a cable works OK, but when switching to the wireless card (it's a Dell with an Intel PRO/wireless LAN PCI adapter) it doesn't pick up an IP adress from the router. If you force it not to be assigned by the router and give it an address and gateway and DNS etc. it works fine. This is not practical as the office and various places have wireless LANs I have to connect to. Any ideas what the problem might be? Cheers, Matt matt |

No and wish I did because I have similar here with a new Realtek RTL8180 to my D-Link DI-704 (via ME102 AP)? (but works ok with statics). Same laptop with the Netgear MA401 takes DHCP ok? As a 'get round' I've set the alternative config (XP Home) to my local i/p settings and hope DHCP works elsewhere (might work for you Mark?) All the best .. T i m |
