Default Help with router/firewall

Hi all, need some help with 2 pcs, please, i have zoom x4 adsl modem
/router/firewall, going through a 5 port switch, , i want it set up so that
both pc's can swap files between each other, but 1 of the machines has
overnet installed, and this is always listed as firewalled ( i need this to
be open), i understand that i have to set up a virtual server, but i am
struggling to get all the setting correct, here is what i know.

Overnet uses tcp port 4662
and udp port 8392

the zoom manual says that each pc should be set up as follows

ip 10.0.0.2
subnet 255.255.255.0
default gateway 10.0.0.2

prefered dns server 10.0.0.2
(how the hell can both pc,s have the same set of numbers?)

I know how to set up a virtual server but these are the details it asks for

public port________
private port_______
select either tcp or udb
and then a host ip adress___________

please help me set this up so that bot pc can talk and overnet is not
firewalled,
Regards

Jason

They can't, and that may well be part of your problem.
Each piece of kit needs its own IP address, say,
10.0.0.2 10.0.0.3 ... 10.0.0.10

The default gateway is presumably your router, and
your DNS server might be one of your own PCs if you
have set one up, otherwise whatever your ISP recommends.

Ah, maybe you are just misunderstanding your zoom manual
which probably means set up each PC with its own IP address
but have the other settings point to it, which is 10.0.0.2

Beyond that it is hard to say since I've never encountered
this particular bit of kit.

John.
