Hi
I've got 2 PCs hooked up over an ethernet wired lan using a router/switch (it also has wireless/ADSL but they are not relevant). The main PC runs W2000 and I can Access other PC running W98 OK on this, but when I try to access the w2000 PC on the W98 PC by click on the computer icon in workgroup it comes up with a password request window saying: You must supply p/w to make this connection. Resouce \\PCNAME.....\IPC$ (it also has a tick box asking if you want to store p/w) I've tried my 'client for microsoft network' password but these dont work. I have another PC running XP on a wirless link on the same lan and thats ok (no passwords requested) Does anyone know whats going on and how I can get rid of/or sort the password request. BTW w98 is FAT32 others are NTFS is thats relevant. Rgds Hugh -- Reply to (E-Mail Removed) Insert Presidents initial instead of his nickname hugh.w.p |

You need to supply a username and password for an account on the Win2k box. -- Conor "Cogito Eggo Sum" - "I think, therefore I am a waffle" |
