Default Cheapest source for 20m of Cat5



Anyone know the cheapest source for 20m of cat5? Expensive from maplin per
M - and dont need 100m+

Any suggestions?

B&Q - 50m for about a tenner.(IIRC)

Or buy the the B&Q network starter kit which includes face plates and
patch cables and punchdown tool.

Just check the cable hasn't been trodden on & mashed for 100/200Mbps.

You can buy long solid-core patch cables incidentally, then chop the RJ45
plugs off. Useful way if colour matching is an issue over the usual
grubby-grey.

www.netshop.co.uk is a good supplier of such cables cheaply, you may
have to hunt around the site to find the cheapest (many) - low shipping
cost.

You might also try screwfix. I've not compared prices lately, but
they use to be very reasonable. They keep a rather surprising
selection of computer-related bits and bobs. Post free over £40 iirc
