Linksys WRT54G

Got a good price on a Linksys WRT54G Wireless G Broadband Router in
anticipation of ADSL comming to the house mid January. Can anyone

a) suggest an ADSL modem to use' and

b) advise if this router can be set up as a wireless access point before I
get my broadband connection?

The manual seems to suggest that all the set up for wireless access must be
done on line but I sure someone here will know better.
