Routering issue under XP Pro

Hi folks,
I got a curious situation with my DSL network at home; the network is:
Router ADSL digicom michelangelo
2 PCs (one with WinXP Pro, brand new, and another with XP Pro and 98)
On the new PC I have no issue, as on the old one under 98. But the old under
XP Pro is not able to obtain automatically the IP from the router. I have to
set it manually and doing this I'm able to see my home network but not to
browse the Web.
