Or a better hub. Is it working at 10MBit or 100MBit? If 10, then when
transferring a large file from one machine to another, you should be
getting about 7-8MBit of usable bandwidth.

its a Olicom oc-26-6, i belive 10mb a lot of the cards in the various
puters are only 10mb as i noticed some times its takes ages to shift large
files and other machines much quicker.

A switch is full duplex isnt it?

Thanks, i want to add another couple of PC's to the 3 LAN games puters, and

thanks.

i have just copied over a 147mb file from A to B(took a couple of min) now
going the same from A to C and its about 44 min, yeah i know the actual time
isnt correct but shows the diff.

I didnt see any probs while playing or lagging.

Is there any software i can set up on the server and monitor speeds/bottle
necks? 98 machine, looked on google but not found what i was looking for or
easy to use.
