Basic MSN does not need UPnP any way, only advanced stuff. Does ordinary MSN
Chat work?

Thats the problem, text chat works but he needs voice chat / video, most
conversations with family all over the world
Which firmware version are you on ? Could you verify if there is a UPnP
section in your router?

Can I just point out - Messenger 6 does away with all these NAT
problems.
