Default Network Cable Unplugged

Every 30 minutes or so I get a balloon pop up on the lower
right of my desktop telling me there is a network cable
unplugged. The message goes away almost immediately.
There does not appear to be an interuption of service but
I'm sure there must be as any downloading from my DVR is
stopped. Is this a network problem or my cable service
provider?

Default Network Cable Unplugged

It's in the LAN side, probably a misconfiguration, or
simply a wired connection that is not used but is enabled.

Is this a wired PC or wireless? If it's wireless, disable
the wired ethernet card connection.

My system is wireless; Base Station MN-500, MN 510 adapter, MN 520 notebook adapter. I also have a wireless bridge attached to a replay TV (DVR). How would I go about disabling the wired ethernet card connection ? Thanks for the reply.

On X, the icon for it appears on the menu bar. RIght-mouse
click on it and select disable. Otherwise, go to Control
Panel/Network, select the wired connection, right-mouse
click, and disable it.

lilo,

Thanks you very much for your advise. I went through control panel and found the local area connection. The properties identified it as a Microsoft PCI adapter MN-130. When I disabled this device the internet would not connect. What did I do wrong? Thanks again. Darob
