Has anyone else had this problem or figured out how to
solve it? I purchased the Microsoft Wireless-G bundle (802.11g router + PCMCIA card), set it all up, appears to be working fine in every aspect between the router and my Desktop, but my Laptop (which is on wireless) says it has an excellent wireless connection. It can't connect to my network so i can share files and browse the web on it and stuff, and it brings up the error message saying: "The wireless security key (WEP) is not valid for the selected network. To connect to an available network, click OK and enter the settings required." Please e-mail me if you know how to solve this problem or if you have any ideas. Ryan |

Make sure you have changed the SSID from default MSHOME or
you might be trying to connect to a neighbors network. On the wireless card settings, also enable Windows Zero Configuration and enter the WEP key there. Make sure you are using the same encryption type on both router and card (WEP, WPA, key length...) One way to get the key right is to disable WEP on the router and card. Using the wireless go to the router using IE at 192.168.2.1. Enter a WEP key on the router and copy it (remember that the key is longer than the input box, so it needs to scroll a little to get all of it). Open the wireless connection settings (e.g. through the view available networks menu item) and paste the key. The wireless network should ome up with WEP enable. >-----Original Message----- >Has anyone else had this problem or figured out how to >solve it?
