802.11b or 802.11g?

Default 802.11b or 802.11g?



i have a cable that is 256kbps upload, 3mbps download.
i hear g is about 5 times faster than b. which is fit for
my connection speed? will g be waste of money, or is be
going to hold down my connection from reaching the full
potential?
