Hi,
I have never had any problems with my base station prior to today. When I go to the Broadband Network Utility and try to access the Base Station Management Tool (or type http://mybasestation or the gateway address) it no longer loads the page properly... I get an error 504 Gateway Timeout Error. I never had problems accessing it before so I have no idea why it is doing that. I get this message: Gateway Timeout The following error occurred: [code=GATEWAY_TIMEOUT] A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request. Please contact the administrator. Any ideas on how this can be fixed? Should I reinstall it? but the other computers on my network can't seem to access it anymore either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Anne-Marie Anne-Marie |

Have you tried unplugging the power to the base station for about two
minutes, then plugging it back in, Anne-Marie? Sometimes we need to exert a show of our power by threatening then with a little example of what we can do - shut them down permanently. 8-) I say this because our area has had several thunder and lightning storms the last few weeks, and while we've only lost power a couple times, I've had to reset the DSL modem (unplugging the power) because the DSL provider apparently has rebooted their routers in the Central Office. Unless I also unplug the power from the wireless base station, let the modem connect first, then power up the base station, I won't have a good connection. -- Chris H. This happen to me a couple weeks ago. I like Chris take on this, though...stay in comman dof your power switch. Here's what I did: (1) disable all software firewalls and anti-virus programs as best you can in one of your PCs. Diable all microwave devices in your vicinity - cordless phones, microwaves, game controllers, etc. (2) turn off WEP/WPA keys in the PC adapter and make sure the wirless connection settings are "Obtain IP...". (3) reset your base station by pushing and holding the reset button with the cartridge from a ballpoint pen until the amber light flashes on the front. (4) try to linkup with the base station after it resumes and shows all green lights. The default channel will be "6". (5) If this doesn't work, change channels to "11" - a non- interfering channel. >-----Original Message----- >Thanks for your suggestion but I just tried unplugging and >replugging my basestation and my modem as well and I still >get the same message ![]() > >>-----Original Message----- >>Have you tried unplugging the power to the base station >for about two >>minutes, then plugging it back in, Anne-Marie? 8-) Sorry, Anne-Marie, that it didn't work for you. Follow up with what
Ken suggested in this thread, and see if it helps you. -- Chris H.
