I have recently purchased and installed a MN-700 and set
up a Workggroup with 4 computers running Windows XP. Internet access is working fine and file sharing works well (and quickly) as long as I click through the "View Workgroup Computers" to get to the hard drives on the other computers. If I don't take this route and just click on the computer name and hard drive icons, the response time is very slow. The workgroup seems to "forget" where the other devices are even though it has found them and accessed them at high speed previously. In fact, a couple of scheduled backup tasks that I run are not able to run under the scheduler now because the target device on the other compute is not found. I can run the tasks manually, but it take a long time for the network to find the target computer. I will appreciate any advice/pointers you can give me. Thank you. and seesm to take to "forget" where the other computes are CGray255@hotmail.com |

Trying directly mapping the various hard drives as network drives. I do this and get instant response when accessing them. >-----Original Message----- >I have recently purchased and installed a MN-700 and set >up a Workggroup with 4 computers running Windows XP. >Internet access is working fine and file sharing works >well (and quickly) as long as I click through the "View >Workgroup Computers" to get to the hard drives on the >other computers.
