Hello,
We have the MN-700 g router and MN-710 USB 2.0 adapter. The basic problem is that periodically (usually after the system has been unused for 30 minutes or more) we will return to the system to see the "wireless connection unavailable" bubble popped up from the system tray and the system has locked up and frozen tighter than a drum .... sometimes we are able to move the mouse for 30 seconds prior to the lockup occurring. in either case the system will not even respond to ctrl-alt-delete and we are forced to do a hard power down and reboot. the usb adapter comes back up no problem and we have connectivity until the next time the whole thing freezes. The adapter has been installed for just over 48 hrs and has locked up 5 times. Our wired connection operates perfectly fine. We have flashed the MN-700 to the latest firmware, and there seems to be no updated drivers or firmware for the MN-710. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks Todd MN-710 |

You know, this happened to me ALL the time. Even before I installed my MN-700 and had a wired connect. After I walked away from my PC for about 30 minutes, I'd come back and the wired internet connection was frozen...a few seconds of mouse-time and complete PC deep-freeze. The problem lies in the "Energy Saving" features. Backclick on the PC screen; go to "Properties"; go to "Screen Saver"; on "Screen Saver, click the "Energy Management" button. Assign all parameters to "Never" sleep or shutdown. Also, take a look at your BIOS setup at re-boot. sometimes the BIOS has its own set of "Energy Saving" features which overule those of WinXP OS. Hope this helps! >-----Original Message----- >Hello, > >We have the MN-700 g router and MN-710 USB 2.0 adapter. > >The basic problem is that periodically (usually after the >system has been unused for 30 minutes or more) we will >return to the system to see the "wireless connection >unavailable" bubble popped up from the system tray and >the system has locked up and frozen tighter than a >drum .... sometimes we are able to move the mouse for 30 >seconds prior to the lockup occurring. in either case >the system will not even respond to ctrl-alt-delete and >we are forced to do a hard power down and reboot. the >usb adapter comes back up no problem and we have >connectivity until the next time the whole thing >freezes. On MN-710 settings, there is a feature to drop the connection if unsed for "XX" minutes. Pull up the Utility program, under "Tools". I think the MN-700 may also have this feature...somewhere.
