Upgrade antenna

Does anyone know whether you can upgrade the antenna on
an MN-500 Base station to increase range and signal
strength?

No, can't do it. There are two antenna in Microsoft's base stations, the
one you see externally and an internal one. Have you tried changing
channels, lower or higher, or moving the position of the base station
itself. Sometimes keeping it more than a foot away from a wall and
electrical sources like a monitor, can work wonders.
