Hi,
I have a Linksys 4 ports acts as a router and DHCP while the MN-700 behind the Linksys as an access point. I am using a MN-720 on my notebook. The internet was fine. both MN700 and the notebook gets IP from Linksys DHCP without problem. The Laptop can access other Wired computer (connected to Linksys) without problem. However, I notice my laptop can never gets to the configuration page of both the MN-700 and Linksys. On my wired computer (wired to Linksys) they can access both MN700 and Linksys configuration page but just not my notebook which is using MN720. Anyone can think of the reason? I try pinging my MN700 and Linksys from notebook.. no problem..but some how can get to both configuration pages from browser. Also, I notice if I use wired computer only.. the linksys work fine.. but Once I use the Wireless to access Internet.. chances are I need to reboot the Linksys every 60-90 mins. Does that mean there is a problem between Linksys and MN700? thanks |

what IP did you assign to the MN700? did you turn off NAT and DHCP,
etc.? On Thu, 29 Apr 2004 05:55:35 -0700, <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote: >Hi, > >I have a Linksys 4 ports acts as a router and DHCP while >the MN-700 behind the Linksys as an access point. Once you change the MN700 as Access point, there are no
more option to IP, NAT and DHCP. They are all disabled. For IP, it will grab from the DHCP server--so, you don't even have a choice.. anyone have setup similar to mine? thanks >-----Original Message----- >what IP did you assign to the MN700? did you turn off NAT and DHCP, >etc.? > >On Thu, 29 Apr 2004 05:55:35 -0700, ><(E-Mail Removed)> wrote: > >>Hi, >> >>I have a Linksys 4 ports acts as a router and DHCP while >>the MN-700 behind the Linksys as an access point. I run exactly the same setup - an MN-700 as an access point wired to a Dlink
wired router. I have two wireless client PCs. When you say "However, I notice my laptop can never gets to the configuration page of both the MN-700 and Linksys." I presume by 'laptop' you are talking about a wireless PC... How are you trying to access the config page of the MN-700? It should be by a NETBIOS name (whatever name you assigned the MN-700) NOT by an IP address [ unless you happen to know the IP address of the MN-700 that it got from the Linksys] I simply do: http://MN-700 and there I am... Perhaps your laptop does not have Netbios over TCP enabled? Can you ping the hostname of the MN-700 from the laptop? Perhaps not. Hi,
thanks for replying. Yup, my Laptop is Wireless. I tried both by name and by ip address. Both not work. Also, it can't even get to the configuration page of the Linksys router either. However, I can ping both the MS-700 and Linksys IP. any more suggestions.? Well, if you can ping the MN-700 or the Linksys you should be able to reach
their respective admin pages by pointing your browser at them via their IP address. Let's say the IP address of the MN-700 is 192.168.0.101 then try this: http://192.168.0.101 If that does not work [yet pinging that address does] and you are SURE that is the IP address of the MN-700 then perhaps you have some firewall software installed on your laptop that is not allowing outbound connections (do you run ZoneAlarm or something like that on the laptop?) um.. I don't run any software firewall on my laptop.
Plus, I get to other website without problem. I tried http://192.168.0.101 already..but it will turn out waiting and waiting (black white page) and nothing come back. >-----Original Message----- >Well, if you can ping the MN-700 or the Linksys you should be able to reach >their respective admin pages by pointing your browser at them via their IP >address.
