Am trying to make a "REMOTE DESKTOP" connection from work
to home. Does useing wep encription keep you from doing this on a constant on connection? Keep getting the time-out error! |

You need to open the appropriate ports on the router to allow the connection
through and/or put the target PC in the DMZ - I am sure if you search for "remote desktop" in this news group postings you will find the information you need... <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:526301c42cb3$05981e80$(E-Mail Removed)... > Am trying to make a "REMOTE DESKTOP" connection from work > to home. Port 3389 is the default port that Remote Desktop uses.
Just redirect any port to port 3389 of the computer you want to connect to, and then use the Remote Desktop client to connect to your WAN ip on the port of your choosing (that gets redirected to port 3389 of the computer you want to connect to) and you should be set. -- Jason Tsang - Microsoft MVP Find out about the MS MVP Program - http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:526301c42cb3$05981e80$(E-Mail Removed)... > Am trying to make a "REMOTE DESKTOP" connection from work > to home.
