Default networking problems

Hi all, I am running cable internet directly into the nm-
700 router. I have a sony pcg-k13 wireless laptop that I
am using as wireless. I am able to share the internet
between both my wireless laptop and desktop computer.
However I am having networking problems. I also got a
desktop computer that I am trying to network. I have
enabled sharing on the desktop computer, but when i go to
Ms Broadband utility I always get an error when trying to
access network devices, from my laptop, the errors are
device not available or no information found on device.
My main goal is to be able to access my desktop files via
my wireless laptop, is this possible or does the network
have to be all wired in opposed to wireless going to
wired. Any infomation much appreciated thanks in advance

The desktop computer is not broadcasting NetBIOS
announcements to the other computers. Check if any
firewalls are turned on on the desktop computer. Also
disable ICF on that computer.

Default networking problems

Hi,
I had trouble finding a networked printer. To resolve the
conflict I had to go to the Wired 10/100 port and stay
hardwired for the configuration process. After locating
and setting up the system that way, I had no further
problems with the printing setup.

I am having problems with keeping the settings on IE when
the computer is shut down. Somehow the 'Automatically
detect settings' is checked. I then clear the checkbox
and IE works perfectly...until the computer is shutdown.
On restarting, it loses the setting.
Do you know why?
Thanks.
