Hello,
I recently purchased a MN-700 to provide wireless capability to my already wired network using an MN-100 (which works fine, I might add). To configure the MN-700 I took the MN-100 offline and used the ethernet port (that my MN-100 was on) to connect to the MN-700 to configure that as an Access Point. I am running XP so it automatically detected the new gateway device (the MN-700) and I was able to connect to it. I set up a 128- encryption WEP key, changed the wireless broadcast channel from the default 6 to 11 and changed the Base Station name from the default "MN-700" another one of my choice; then I went into the Security menu to change the Base Station mode from a Router to Access Point. In the Help it states that once I change the MN-700 from a Router to an Access Point I can only access Base Station Management tool using the name I have given it (no longer the IP). I did all that, and the MN-700 re-programmed itself. I took the MN- 700 off from ethernet port on my computer and plugged back in the MN-100 and used port 1 from the MN-700 to plug in port 1 on the MN-100 and I rebooted my PC. Now when I go to access the MN-700 using it's new name in Internet Explorer (6.0 SP1) I get "Page Cannot be Displayed". When I go to access my MN-100 Base Station Management Tool it does not show the MN-700 as a client on my network (which from reading the Help said it should be). Is there something I have done wrong? (in the above steps) Also, is there some configuration on the MN-100 that I have to do to have it detect my MN-700 as a client on my network now? (i.e. putting in the MAC address of the MN-700) Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mike Mike |
