Setting up an MN500 base unit to run Mn520 on laptop.
Cannot get past the problem of configuring the base. saying that there is a software firewall or other internet security software or to reboot the base. I have done both shut off all applications and rebooting the base. It is really frustrating...Any help before I take this back. Thanks Johnnie |

I had the same problem, but was able to set it up
manually. If you go to your webbrowser and type in 192.168.2.1 , if the router has not been setup yet the password is admin. You can go through all the settings and input them there. >-----Original Message----- >Setting up an MN500 base unit to run Mn520 on laptop. >Cannot get past the problem of configuring the base. >saying that there is a software firewall or other internet >security software or to reboot the base. I too had the same problem. I used the manual set up and
it still did not work. Last night tech support had me trying all kinds of power cycling routines. Finally, today I set everything again, and it still did not work. Walked away to eat, came back and it was working ?!?!?!? Very frustrating. However, at least I know my set up is capable of working. Here is the only help I can provide based on my experience: Reset the base station. Manually set up and configure. Once you know that all the settings are correct start cycling the power between your base station, modem and computer. If you get the cycle just right and the planets are in the correct alignment (plus you must walk away so that the router doesn't know your watching) you will get your base station to work. Sorry to joke, but it is funny to me that it just started working on its own. >-----Original Message----- >I had the same problem, but was able to set it up >manually.
