I bought the micrsoft wireless g router and wireless pci
card, on my old router all requests for remote desktop were we routed to a port number is made up not the default one, now when i setup the router to accept traffic on this port i keep getting failures i have setup everything like it said in the router management console's Persistent port forwarding, am i missing anything? I can connect to the remote desktop from other computers in the network just not from the internet. John W |

OK.
Let's start from the beginning: Did you change the remote desktop port, or is it still 3389? Are you using your internet IP Address outside of the network? i changed the default port for remote desktop connection
my computer and when im on the internet i enter the address of the routers address not the internal network address you cant use them outside of the network. I used Persistent Port Forwarding 1984 is the port number i have changed on my system from the default number so when i remote connection i use 24.#.#.#:1984 correct?
