Default Remote Desktop failure

I bought the micrsoft wireless g router and wireless pci
card, on my old router all requests for remote desktop
were we routed to a port number is made up not the
default one, now when i setup the router to accept
traffic on this port i keep getting failures i have setup
everything like it said in the router management
console's Persistent port forwarding, am i missing
anything? I can connect to the remote desktop from other
computers in the network just not from the internet.

OK.

Let's start from the beginning:

Did you change the remote desktop port, or is it still 3389?

Are you using your internet IP Address outside of the network? (It does not
begin with 192.168.x.x)

What exactly did you enter into the port forwarding page/

Default Re: Remote Desktop failure

i changed the default port for remote desktop connection
my computer and when im on the internet i enter the
address of the routers address not the internal network
address you cant use them outside of the network. I used
Persistent Port Forwarding
1984 is the port number i have changed on my system from
the default number so when i remote connection i use
24.#.#.#:1984 correct?
Inbound port type private private port
1984 tcp 192.168.2.52 1984
have i set it up inncorrect?
