Here's the score everyone,
I've gone through two MN-700's and they both have the same wireless connection drop problem. I've tried everything to get it to work... talked to microsoft techs... sent microsoft emails... used this news group... the bottom line is I've had (and apparently many other people have had) serious issues in getting the wireless portion of the MN-700 to work. The wired portion of the router works great! The only problem is I bought a WIRELESS router!!!! Ok so here's what I suggest... get a case number from a microsoft tech and ask them for the 1-800 number you have to call to get a refund. It's really too bad... it had so much promise... The refund takes ~20 days to get after Microsoft gets reciept of your old router. If I can be of any help to anyone just ask... Dee Dubya Dee Dubya |

Microsoft will give you a refund even if it was bought from
a retail store? Dee, I bought my MN700 in October, and I've been lurking the groups since then waiting for some sort of answer to the WPA disconnect problem. I am assuming that you get the disconnects when using WPA and not WEP right? After a ton of hours trying to fix this problem, I gave up in late November, and decided to wait for a fix from Microsoft. My notebook with a MN720 just wont stay connected using WPA - but once I shifted backwards to WEP it works fine. I get the exact same results with two different PCI Microsoft MN-730. I've read a ton of different newsgroup threads but have yet to find ONE that offers a solution to this, and yet there are quite a few people with the same problem. I dont think that Microsoft realizes or cares just how many people have this problem that dont speak up in the newsgroups, either because they have switched to WEP or are just lurking and waiting for a fix, or just dont have time to try and solve the problem. I for one am getting tired of waiting for a fix. Yes I have downloaded all the updates and firmware upgrades that I know of - someone mentioned a rollup from december, I dont think I have that one though, the one I got was from early November I think, is there 2 rollup updates? Some of the older newsgroup threads in October report that other brands of wireless products also were disconnecting using WPA. I dont know if that is still the case or not - - Anybody? I bought all microsoft products, hoping that they would work well together but that has not been the case. I'm very dissatisfied as the newsgroups seem to not offer a definitive cause nor solution. Yep you can get a refund. You just have to get the tech
support dude who issues you a case number to tell you the 1-800 number to call to get a refund. As for my problem, my connection dropped even without any security at all! I hope this helps, Dee Dubya >-----Original Message----- >Microsoft will give you a refund even if it was bought from >a retail store? > >Dee, I bought my MN700 in October, and I've been lurking the >groups since then waiting for some sort of answer to the WPA >disconnect problem.
