Default AOL broadband problem

I have installed the software and completed the MN700
hardware install properly.

The MN700 modem light is on and it appears to be trying to
connect with the Broadband Blaster DSL modem provided by
AOL but it does not recognize the internet connection
during set up.

What am I doing wrong?

Default Re: AOL broadband problem

Are you required to have AOL open to connect to the Internet? If this
is so either change your ISP to anything other then AOL or take the
hardware back & contact AOL support to find out which specific routers
will work with there software.

The reason for this problem is that AOL refuses to use a standard TCP/IP
stack. They use a proprietary one that won't work with most routers.

Here is an article from Microsoft about this issue "810958 MSBBN: Cannot
Connect More Than One Computer to AOL Broadband Service by Using
Microsoft Broadband Networking Hardware". If you go to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];810958 it will
give you more information. They also have an article that says they do
not support sharing an AOL connection but that article is not public any
longer.
