You can't use the proprietary speed modes on any of the DLink or other
vendors NICs to connect to the standards based MN-500. They should work together fine as long as you don't try to use the
special speed enhancement modes that some of these adapters offer. DLink has a version of the 520 that is advertised to do 22mbps. But you can't use that mode with the MN500. Hi agin Barb....I was on the phone with DLink last
evening..they had me do some things to check out there card..it was functional..however I could not get a connection to the MN 500..they told me that based on the INS address( I believe the first three #'s were 167.)that told them the MN500 does not "see" the DLink...what do I need to do to get connected?? By the way..this DLink is 11mbps...Are there addresses that shouls match up between router and card adapter?? (Can u tell I'm a rookie?) >-----Original Message----- >They should work together fine as long as you don't try to use the >special speed enhancement modes that some of these adapters offer. >DLink has a version of the 520 that is advertised to do 22mbps. What operating system are you using? Make sure the DLink adapter is in
Infrastructure and not ad hoc mode and that it has the correct SSID configured and not "default". Make sure you are using 128 bit WEP in both devices (and use a HEX key in the DLink). You probably can get more help configuring the DLink card at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/dlink On Sun, 8 Feb 2004 12:30:05 -0800, "Jeebs" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote: >Hi agin Barb....I was on the phone with DLink last >evening..they had me do some things to check out there >card..it was functional..however I could not get a >connection to the MN 500..they told me that based on the >INS address( I believe the first three #'s were 167.)that >told them the MN500 does not "see" the DLink...what do I >need to do to get connected?? the setup wizard from the MN-500 should have allowed you to enable 128
bit WEP encryption. Either rerun the wizard OR manually access the base station. I'd suggest in your case using the wizard. You will need to refer to DLink support for help with configuring WEP with their wireless adapter. We can't help you here with your DLink card.
