Are you sure it's not the other way round? Check at
www.dslreports.com/tools If it's still low, check with your ISP as to what speed they are offering to you. Remember that ADSL is a 'shared' service, the more folks that are sharing your connection, the slower your speed will be. It's SDSL that is all yours and only yours. My test result from www.dslreports.com.....
Why is my download speed so off from my upload. I never had this problem before I added this MN-610 system. What can I do to get my high speed back as something with this unit is causing me problems. Thanks M 2004-02-07 22:18:27 EST: 13 / 338 Your download speed : 13358 bps, or 13 kbps. A 1.6 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 338983 bps, or 338 kbps. >-----Original Message----- >Are you sure it's not the other way round? You must have a cable modem. Cable modem providers
allocate a certain number of channels for uploads and a certain number for downloads. They ALWAYS allocate far more channels for downloads than uploads because that's what people do most frequently. I have service from Cox in Oklahoma. My download speeds approach 5Mb/s at times, but my upload is always capped at 256Kb/s (32KB/s). So it's not a problem with your router, it's just the nature of the beast. >-----Original Message----- >I have the MN-610 (500) kit. Greg:
Yes I have a Cable modem however I've been on the same cable modem for 4 years with no problems. Prior to installing my MN-610 product I had amazing speeds. Since I've started using this unit, its been a snail speed for downloads. Software updates which took minutes before is now taking hours. Must be something with this unit but what I don't know???? HELP M >-----Original Message----- >You must have a cable modem. Cable modem providers >allocate a certain number of channels for uploads and a >certain number for downloads. clone the Mac address from the computer that was previously connected
to the cable modem into the MN-500 OR call Cox and register the new Mac address of the base station.
